James Marsden Talks "The Box"

Jimmy加入Richard Kelly傳很久的新片The Box。將跟老牛吃嫩草專家 Cameron Diaz合演夫妻，同片的還有Frank Langella.

這個故事看起來相當不錯。

描述一對夫妻某天收到一個神祕男子送上的盒子，盒子裡面有個按鈕，只要他們按下去，就馬上會變的富有，
但同時世上某個角落的某人會馬上死亡。

所以按或不按，變成了超大的心理掙扎。

這部片會比較平鋪直敘點了，不會像Donnie Darko或Southland Tales一樣難懂。

James Marsden confirmed to Sci Fi Wire that on November 10th in Boston, he will begin shooting "The Box" for director Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko). Marsden joins a cast that includes Cameron Diaz and Frank Langella.

"It takes place in the mid-'70s," Marsden explained. "This ... married couple with a child, a man shows up at their front door with a box. Inside the box is a button. And he says, 'If you push this button, someone you don't know will die. But you'll get this certain sum of money.'"

According to Marsden, the film will be a bit of a departure for Kelly. While it will have some similarities with "Donnie Darko" and "Southland Tales," the story will be much more straightforward.

"There's definitely elements that seem very much like Richard Kelly's style, but I would say it's still very different from both those movies," he said. "I haven't seen 'Southland Tales' yet. I'm seeing it in a couple days. But, yeah, they're different. I mean, there are elements that are similar, but they are still very different."

Jennifer Connelly has signed on and Kathy Bates is negotiating to star in "The Day the Earth Stood Still" for 20th Century Fox. Keanu Reeves has already boarded the sci-fi remake.

Scott Derrickson will direct the pic as his follow-up to "The Exorcism of Emily Rose." Ryne Douglas Pearson wrote the screenplay; David Scarpa penned a recent draft.

Story kicks off as aliens land on Earth carrying a message for all humans: Live in peace or be destroyed. Connelly is set to portray Helen Benson, the role Patricia Neal played in the 1951 original.

Fox has set a December start date in Vancouver.

看這陣容內容應該會相當辛辣。

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel are attached to star in the risque political satire "Nailed." David O. Russell (Three Kings) is attached to direct and co-write the screenplay with Al Gore's daughter, Kristin Gore.

Biel would play Sammy Joyce, a socially awkward small-town receptionist who has a nail accidentally shot into her head by a clumsy workman, eliciting wild sexual urges. The uninsured Joyce goes on a crusade to Washington to fight for the rights of the bizarrely injured. She meets an immoral congressman (Gyllenhaal) who takes advantage of her sex drive and capitalizes on her crusade as Joyce heads into her own career in politics.

Preproduction is set to begin in two weeks, aiming for a January start date for principal photography.



David Fincher to Helm "The Killer"

Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac神級導演 David Fincher下一部作品是圖畫小說改編的the Killer, 將由小布的公司Plan B製作，應該很有可能再度跟導演合作。

劇情是一個殺手突然良心發現想改過自新，但已經有個警察緊追在後了。

故事很普通，但這種題材交給David Fincher, 就 對 了 !

Paramount Pictures has acquired graphic novel "The Killer" and will develop it as a directing vehicle for David Fincher. Allesandro Camon will write the script, about a top assassin suddenly plagued by his conscience and a highly competent cop hot on his tail.

The graphic novel was written by Matz, whose real name is Alexis Nolent. The author works for Ubisoft, one of France's biggest video game companies. Luc Jacamon illustrated the novel, which was originally published in France in 1988 by Casterman and debuted in the U.S. as a 10-issue series published by Archaia Studio Press.

"The Killer" puts Fincher in line to make his third recent film for Paramount, where he helmed "Zodiac" and recently wrapped "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Latter film stars Brad Pitt, with whom Fincher first worked on "Fight Club."
