Christopher Meloni ("Law & Order: SVU") and James Franco ("Spider-Man" Franchise) have been cast opposite Diane Lane and Richard Gere in Warner Bros Pictures' "Nights in Rodanthe." George Wolfe is directing the romantic drama.

An adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel, the story sees a doctor (Gere) stop at an inn in North Carolina while traveling to reconcile with his estranged son. At the beach town, the doctor has a life-changing romance with an unhappily married woman (Lane). Ken Hixon and Ann Peacock worked on the screenplay.

Meloni is playing the role of Lane's husband, while Franco plays Gere's estranged son.



Keira Knightley to Play Princess Diana

A controversial book about Princess Diana has sparked a multi-million dollar bidding war between Hollywood movie moguls. And "Pirates Of The Caribbean" star Keira Knightley is already being wooed to play Di, reports Sun Online.

They hope the film will rake in millions at the box office following the huge success of "The Queen," which netted Helen Mirren an Oscar this year.

An insider at Paramount Studios said: "It was deemed inappropriate at the time of Diana's death but is proving irresistible following The Queen's massive success. For every pound The Queen makes, a film about Diana would make ten."

The film will be based on the book "Diana And The Paparazzi," which tells the extraordinary story of the Princess of Wales, who died aged 36 in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

Industry executives were vying to seal a deal at last week's Cannes Film Festival.



Aaron Eckhart Stars in "Traveling"

Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) is set to star in Universal Pictures' "Traveling," which will mark the directing debut of Brandon Camp. Camp wrote the script with longtime writing partner Mike Thompson, who will also produce.

Eckhart will play a widower whose book about grieving turns him into a phenomenon. Reinvented as a charismatic self-help guru, he falls for a woman at a seminar and is forced to confront the fact that he hasn't come to grips with his own loss.

The writers are best known for penning "Dragonfly" and "Steinbeck's Point of View," both of which dealt with themes of loss and mortality. Shooting "Traveling" begins early next year.



Zooey Deschanel Joins Shyamalan's "Happening"

莎瑪蘭的新片女主角選了Zooey Deschanel,雖然有點怪，但其實她跟Bryce Dallas Howard是同一型的演員，
應該也是可以被用的很好。

故事是有關於地球/外星人利用控制動植物進而想統治地球的科幻故事。男主角是Mark Wahlberg.

值得欣慰的是這部片的劇本已經在網路上流傳很久，獲得普遍的好評，這次莎瑪蘭總不會再搞砸了吧？

Zooey Deschanel has signed to star with Mark Wahlberg in M Night Shyamalan's 20th Century Fox thriller "The Happening."

Story concerns a man who takes his family on the run when an apocalyptic natural crisis threatens to end civilization; lensing starts in August in Philadelphia.

Deschanel's credits include "Bridge to Terabithia," "Failure to Launch" and the upcoming "Surf's Up" and "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."



Kevin Federline Joins Keanu Reeves in "Night Watch"

According to In Touch Weekly, Kevin Federline (Britney Spears' ex-husband) is getting his acting career off the ground by taking a role in Keanu Reeves' new film, entitled "Night Watch."

In addition to Reeves, Federline will join the cast comprised of Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie and Chris Evans. The story follows a veteran LAPD cop (Reeves), who turned to the bottle after his wife's death. He is later framed by his former mentor (Whitaker) in the murder of a fellow officer.

No word yet on what kind of role Federline will play in the thriller, but sources call it "small but notable."

This won't be the first project the 29 year old has appeared in. His first experience was on "You Got Served," where he played a dancer. And last year, he acted in an episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
