Maria Bello Replaces Weisz in "Mummy 3"

Rachel Weisz 堅持不回神鬼傳奇第三集，電影公司馬上找人來替補。
替補的是曾演過A History of Violence, World Trade Center的優秀女演員Maria Bello.

當然Mario Bello是不錯，但Rachel Weisz在這系列中太有代表性了..

Maria Bello will replace Rachel Weisz in the third installment of "The Mummy." She joins Brendan Fraser, Luke Ford, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh in the Rob Cohen-directed film for Universal Pictures.

Bello will play Evelyn Carnahan O'Connell, the adventuress played in the first two films by Weisz. After Weisz declined to reprise, Cohen and the studio cast a wide net for a replacement.

Scripted by "Smallville" creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, the film brings the O'Connells and their full-grown son (Ford) to the forbidden tombs of China and the Himalayas, where they battle a shape-shifting mummy, a former Chinese emperor (Li) cursed by a wizard (Yeoh).

The first two films grossed more than $830 million worldwide for Universal, which will release the third installment next summer.

Channing Tatum in "The Stanford Prison Experiment"

Icon Entertainment has picked up international sales rights to Christopher McQuarrie's upcoming feature project "The Stanford Prison Experiment."

Pic, set to shoot this October, is based on the true story of Dr. Philip Zimbardo's ground-breaking study of human behavior at Stanford University in 1971.

Student volunteers were assigned roles as guards and prisoners in a mock prison, but the relationship between them degenerated so rapidly into abuse that Zimbardo had to abandon the experiment halfway through.

The movie, co-written by McQuarrie and Tim Talbott, will star Giovanni Ribisi, Channing Tatum, Kieran Culkin, Paul Dano, Jesse Eisenberg, Charlie Hunnam and Ben McKenzie.

Pic will shoot on the Stanford campus in Palo Alto, California, and in Regina, Canada.

Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson Team for "TinTin"

史蒂芬史匹柏與「魔戒」紐西蘭名導彼德傑克遜成了銀幕新拍檔？日前這兩大名導才剛宣布，將聯手把暢銷小說「蘇西的世界」搬上大銀幕，昨日，兩人又看上比利時暢銷漫畫「丁丁歷險記」，計畫從23本系列漫畫中，濃縮拍攝３部系列動畫影片。

「綜藝日報」指出，史蒂芬史匹柏一直是「丁丁歷險記」的超級粉絲，經過多年努力，最近終於敲定電影版權，他與彼德傑克遜一同擔任製片外，也將至少執導一部系列影片。史蒂芬史匹柏在官方網站表示，彼德傑克遜的電腦特效工作室已開始進行前製作業，他們將從1929年至1976年共23本系列漫畫中，拍攝３部系列電影。「為表示對丁丁的尊重」，他們將會運用最先進的電腦特效，讓丁丁這位冒險小英雄跟真人一樣「栩栩如生」。

Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are teaming to direct and produce three back-to-back features based on Georges Remi's beloved Belgian comic-strip hero Tintin for DreamWorks. Pics will be produced in full digital 3-D using WETA Digital’s groundbreaking performance capture technology. The two filmmakers will each direct at least one of the movies; studio wouldn't say which director would helm the third.

"Tintin" has long been a passion project for Spielberg; he has held various film rights to the comedic adventure book series off and on for more than 25 years. With the rights in place, Spielberg, Jackson and DreamWorks began quietly developing the project. Jackson has also long been a fan of the comic books.

Jackson's New Zealand-based WETA Digital, the f/x house behind "The Lord of the Rings" franchise, produced a 20-minute test reel bringing to life the characters created by Remi, who wrote under the pen name of Herge.

"We want Tintin's adventures to have the reality of a live-action film, and yet Peter and I felt that shooting them in a traditional live-action format would simply not honor the distinctive look of the characters and world that Herge created," said Spielberg.

Bryan Singer Talks "Superman Returns 2"

Bryan Singer正在拍攝阿湯哥主演的二戰時期政治驚悚片，在日前訪談中他提到，等這部片拍完，他就會馬上投入超人續集的拍攝工作，目前劇本正如火如荼的趕工中。

Kevin Spacey跟Parker Posey都預期會被找回來繼續演他們的角色。

Bryan Singer is working on the WWII movie "Valkyrie" before he goes into production on "Superman: The Man of Steel," reports RottenTomatoes. However, he's got writers Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty working on the script and other producers getting things ready, so he'll be ready to go as soon as "Valkyrie" is done.

"The idea is ['Valkyrie'] will be finished by the end of the year," said Singer. "So it'll be sometime next year. Sometime in the middle of next year, summer of next year. Probably summer."

What they have in store for "Man of Steel" may determine how quickly after the summer '08 production the film gets into theaters. "It depends on how complex those airplane rescue topping sequences are and how long they take to shoot."

Harris and Dougherty have decided on villains for the new film, but can't confirm who they are yet. "They need a good approval from the chief," said Harris. "But, yeah, Superman is only as good as his villains."

Singer added that he has options for Kevin Spacey and Parker Posey to reprise their roles of Luthor and Kitty.

Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher are teaming-up in a romantic comedy "What Happens in Vegas" for 20th Century Fox. Director Julian Farino ("Entourage") is looking to helm from a script by Dana Fox.

Set in Sin City, story revolves around two people who discover they've gotten married following a night of debauchery, with one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other's quarter. Unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money -- falling in love along the way.

Deals aren't yet closed for the two actors, Farino or Fox.

De Niro and Pacino Re-Unite in "Righteous Kill"

昨日坎城消息指出，這兩位影帝將在警匪新片Righteous Kill再次攜手，這一回，兩人不再玩官兵抓強盜的遊戲，而是皆扮演警探，一同追緝殘暴的連續殺人犯。

Robert De Niro and Al Pacino will team onscreen for just the second time in "Righteous Kill," a $60 million indie production put together by Nu Image's Millennium Films.

Shooting will begin August 6th in Connecticut, with some work in Gotham to follow. The two stars play cops chasing a serial killer. Jon Avnet (Fried Green Tomatoes) will direct and produce and the script is by "Inside Man" scribe Russell Gewirtz.

Nu Image topper Avi Lerner and Randall Emmett, two of the pic's six producers, did not disclose additional plot details or the source material during a short press briefing Thursday. Rights to all world territories are being shopped in Cannes.

"This is an event in world history," Lerner said. "They were in two scenes in 'Heat.' In this movie, they are in the whole thing together."

Daniel Craig in WWII Drama

故事敘述四個猶太兄弟從波蘭的納粹集中營中逃出，最後加入俄羅斯的反抗軍隊，救出更多猶太人的故事。

Edward Zwick將自導自編自製，當然，這一看就像他的電影。

Edward Zwick and Daniel Craig are teaming for World War II action-drama "Defiance," about a band of Jewish resistance fighters.

Zwick is writing, directing and producing. The $50 mllion film -- the next for both of them -- is based on a true story and is set to begin lensing in early September, meaning Craig will shoot "Defiance" before he begins filming the next James Bond installment.

Storyline follows four Jewish brothers living in Nazi occupied Poland who escape into the forest, where they join up with Russian resistance fighters in battling the Nazis and trying to save the lives of other Jews.

Zwick, who last directed "Blood Diamond," began developing "Defiance" 8 years ago after picking up the film rights to Nechama Tec's non-fiction tome of the same name. The project is the first World War II drama he's tackled, although he's directed two other war pics, "Courage Undre Fire" and "Glory."
